LEF SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS - FALL 2018

Yu Ding (CBS), Yegor Tkachenko (CBS), & Andrew Kwon (Parsons)

The Luxury Education Foundation is proud to present the 2018 LEF Scholarship Awards to Yu Ding and Yegor Tkachenko of Columbia Business School, and Andrew Kwon of Parsons School of Design.

Scholarship recipients Ding , Tkachenko, and Kwon, all received awards from Lalique, the official award purveyor of The Luxury Education Foundation Scholarship. This year, we are delighted to present the recipients with the LALIQUE Toupie cufflinks. The hypnotizing geometry of the Toupie catches the movement of light across its surface between satin finish and transparency; emblematic of LALIQUE’s hallmark finish.

Columbia Business School Recipients:

We would like to congratulate Yu Ding on receiving this scholarship.  His research is focused on three areas: Consumer trust, Brand positioning and product design, and Promotion and bundling. Example of his projects examines how consumers perceive products as luxurious based on shape, the other investigates how brand image is influenced by the online media environment.

We would also like to congratulate Yegor Tkachenko on receiving this scholarship. Yegor’s research focuses on design of robust and scalable autonomous decision-making and decision-support systems. One of his projects addresses the issue of computer-aided generation of novel visual product designs, in particular, shoes, including luxury shoes.

Parsons School of Design Recipients:

We would like to congratulate Andrew Kwon this year's School of Fashion Design LEF Scholar.  Andrew is now undergoing his yearlong Thesis with a dedication to Womenswear design. Building on his appreciation of craft and the luxury market his approach to design is capturing the essence of a young modern woman with an evening wear hand. Andrew exhibits the dedication that speaks to a traditional atelier thirst for femininity and the respect of the wearer.
