About the LEF Retailing Internship Program

This program is for Columbia Business School students to thoroughly experience working in luxury retailing. LEF’s Retailing Internship Program allows MBA students to better grasp the day-to-day retail operations of luxury brands. LEF has developed 3 formats for the program: a Part-Time Academic Year Internship, a Full-Time Summer Internship and a Weeklong Shadowing Program.

The objective of the program is for the intern to experience the retail environment and the many facets of working in a flagship store. Luxury Craftsmanship Workshop

To celebrate its Tenth anniversary, LEF announced the creation of its tenth program, the “Luxury Craftsmanship Workshop”, in collaboration with Parsons School of Design. For this course, Parsons faculty members selected 16 highly accomplished students who worked in four teams of four with expert craftsmen from participating luxury companies, thus providing the students with an exceptional, hands-on educational experience.

The following companies participated in the 2015 “Luxury Craftsmanship Workshop”: Graff, Loro Piana, Maclaren and Van Cleef & Arpels.

Graff: Working with Graff master artisans, students reinterpreted the Graff Iconic butterfly motif with original new concepts.

Loro Piana: Learning from the masters in Loro Piana’s knitwear labs, students created a new knitwear collection inspired by the beauty and exquisite craftsmanship of Loro Piana.

Maclaren: Guided by Maclaren’s creative directors, students designed a one-of-a kind buggy for an expecting celebrity of their choice.

Van Cleef & Arpels: Working directly with VCA’s creative team, students designed a unique collection based on the theme of Spring.
